USS Brewton FF-1086
Welcome Aboard Brochure

Brewton Pamphlet

Anyone who has served in the U.S. Navy can tell you that walking across the quarterdeck of a warship for the first time is a daunting experience. There is much to learn, and a sailor will have to give his best in order to live up to the trust that has been placed in him by the Navy and his fellow shipmates. In addition, any new man aboard is expected to have an understanding of his ship's namesake, and what that individual contributed to the Navy and his country.

This "Welcome Aboard" pamphlet was given to new arrivals, as well as visitors to the ship. It contains wonderful information about the USS Brewton and its capabilities. More importantly, it gives insight about the ultimate sacrifice made by John C. Brewton for his country. I was truly pleased to be able to post this booklet, as I never expected to run across it again. Please take a moment and thank David Brewton for taking the time to send this information in. Thank you David! This particular pamphlet is from 1990-1992, as Charlie Jones is the CO. I'll never forget reading this booklet as I lugged my sea bag on board the Brewton for the first time. I hope you enjoy reading it again as well. ( Mark Lookabaugh - 1998)
