I recently found some of the items that were given to the crew when we transported the unknown soldier from HA to California. What an incredible opportunity that was. Do all of you who remember how stuffy those marine guards were while they were standing in front of the casket? There was no way anyone was getting near that casket.. I don't know that anybody in the service would have even considered doing anything to hurt. That was probably one of the most important duties any of us ever had. I would have done anything to protect that casket.
