After 33 combined years of military service the time has finally come to furl my sails. To those that I served with on board the Brewton (from the pre-commissioning crew through August 1973) those days have some of my best memories of serving our country.
I have been priviledged have been associated with the greatest people who serve our country. Whether they were sailors, airmen, soldier's, or marines. I have served in the Navy, Air Force, and the Army, and even though the last sixteen years have been in the Army, I always point with pride to my Navy Good Conduct Medal. As the saying goes -- "You can take the man out of the Navy, but you can never take the Navy out of the man!"
