POOW Firearm?

I'm curious... what make/caliber of firearms were issued to the Petty Officers of the Watch on the Brewton over the years?

Some sources have said that the quality of the small arms in the fleet isn't very good... mainly due to overused magazines and a service life that's too long. Do you think that's true?
