The Engineering Department made up of Boiler
Technicians, Enginemen, Electricians, Interior Communication Electricians,
Hull Technicians, Machinist Mates, and Machinist Repairmen, kept the
Brewton moving through the seas to make all of her commitments. The
BT's kept the boilers hot and the fuel flowing to keep the steam moving
to the MM's turbines and generators which moved the screw and put power to
the electricians switchboards, motors and fuzes. The HT's kept up the
D.C. equipment, lead the fire parties, and kept the pipes clear for that
morning relief. The EN's kept the diesels up and on call for that sudden
emergency and kept the boats running for their life saving use. The
MM's of A Gang tried to keep everyone satisfied with the air conditioning,
but... The IC men were always working on the phones to keep you in touch,
and they always had an extra sound powered phone ready for the one the
other guy broke and the electricians did their best for morale with
--- MOVIE CALL.
