OE DIVISION

ET3 Brian Langley, ETC David Bibb.
OE Division has the responsibility for maintaining the communications
equipment, radars, navigational aids, data processing systems and closed
circuit television systems. Electronic Materials Officer, ENS Peters, the
"aggie-in-the-woodpile", heads the division and earned his Surface Warfare
designator during the cruise. The chief warrior, ETC(SW) Bibb, keeps tight
rein on the division, coordinating between the various work centers. Running
OEO1 work center is ET1(SW) Ray, who earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare
designator. Taking time out from re-building antenna couplers and diving the
islands, ET3 Carion was presented to the Duke and Duchess of York during the
Australian Bicentennial Naval Salute. ET3 Deleon keeps Snap II working in
tip-top shape. ET3 Crable maintains the IFF and repeaters in great condition.
ET3 Shultz keeps the ship's morale up with movies and news from around the world
every night. ET3 Gibbs taught all he knew in radio, prior to his departure in
Bali, to ET3 Maidman, the successor to head radio tech. ET3 Langley, joining
us is Bunbury, WA, takes over the air search radar. ET3 Reed joined us in PNG,
and takes over crypto work from the chief. ET2 McSweeney is the surface search
radar tech and DC maintenance man. Along for the ride from USS NEW JERSEY,
ET3 Ballesteros, completes the "TWIDGETS".
