Comments: Very impressive web page indeed. I dealt with Knox-class Sailors often when I was based in Sasebo, Japan. They'd sail into town and their crewmen would ask me (I was a JO2 assigned to the base AFRTS station) where to go in town. They were much better behaved than carrier sailors. I liked the Knox-class, which had that odd "mack" which looked like a champagne cork, atop their hull. I guess the most famous Knox was USS Pharris, which starred in a Tom Clancy novel.
